Lutheran Hymnals Christian Hymns Sheet Music for Churches Religious MP3's & Midi's
These are the traditional songs of worship and praise from
Lutheran Hymnals presented in midi, in mp3, in lyrics and in sheet music.
We will endeavor to provide as much permissions and copyright will allow.
It seems everyone has a favorite hymn, many will be found here, but
our focus is on the hymns found in Lutheran hymnals, and until we gather
all of those, we are not considering anything else. Most of the files
are general midi, and can be played by almost any computer soundcard,
and a variety of other midi devices. All of the files are original copyrighted
work, and are for personal private use only. Many of our midi hymns
are presented in original copyrighted arrangements.
Here are some favorite destinations -
What else? This site holds 6 complete Lutheran Hymnals, "The Lutheran
Hymnal" in midi, "Lutheran Worship" in midi, "Hymnal Supplement 98", "Lutheran
Book of Worship" and "With One Voice". We have original hymn arrangements
for organ, and for brass quintet - presented in midi. We also have our
contemporary hymn section, where original arrangements traditional hymns
are done in folk, country western and rock styles. Our reference section
contains several special indexes, a scripture index to hymns, a topical
index to hymns, and various cross reference devices to enable moving between
different hymnals, including tune indexes. We have sheet music available
and there are Christian mp3 from our CD's.
We also have a selection of Bible studies, organized around the 3 year Revised Common Lectionary, and some theological papers for your consideration.
That is the reason why we are here - that we might encourage, and that we might be of some aid - in helping the Word of God to Dwell richly in the hearts of all mankind. As our name indicates the main focus is on Lutheran hymnody in text and in midi. And following the Hymn link will take you on into "The Lutheran Hymnal", with all its resources.
However, if you follow the link "About Us" not only will it tell you something about who we are, but it is also where one would find resources for Biblical Studies, and Celtic Folk Music, and Bach's Organbüchlein.
So we have come to the proverbial fork in the road.
While We come at things from a Lutheran perspective, without a doubt these are
the hymns of the whole church. While one is rightly proud of great German
hymn writers of the Lutheran Reformation, and all the chorales that were
written that the people of God might sing his praises; we also acknowledge
our debt to the English hymn writers and the early translators who brought
the music of the Reformation into the English speaking church, that process
also brought into the German church many additional melodies for which
we also have great regard, likewise we acknowledge the hymns of the church
which proceeded the Reformation back to the earliest times. Our church
music is a great treasure, and it is our hope that many will come to appreciate
how God's grace has enabled us to sing with one voice.

teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 |
